Sakho v Carroll: who should start? Sakho out for Everton
Billic has a nice headache with Carroll coming back to form. The towering Geordie has rescued us a load of points in the last couple of games.

Should he start? Sakho is the one vulnerable. He is a good player - fast, technically decent and scores goals. But Carroll offers something different with his power and hold up play.

They're unlikely to play together under Billic's set up, so Sakho must continue scoring goals - at least one in three - to justify his place. Otherwise, it's time to bring back Carroll. Who agrees?

Nov 5th

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has confirmed Diafra Sakho is out of Saturday. game with Everton.

The striker missed last weeks, defeat at Watford and is also set to sit out at Upton Park this weekend. Bilic confirmed Sakho has a small tear in his thigh but is hoping the injury won't rule him out for too long.

The Hammers face rivals Spurs after the international break and that is the date set for Sakho's return at present. "Sakho is out. It's nothing major, he felt something after training last week and he has a small tear in his thigh," Bilic said. "He's out on Saturday but the prognosis is that he will be fit for the game after the international break.
"Everton is on one hand yes a special game for me, on another hand not. It's a big game against a good team. "On the other hand it is special because I played there and enjoyed it there. I played for two clubs here, so it is special, yes."

Anyone who seriously wants Jelavic starting is deluded

Zarate to start lone striker

Jelavic to come on and score against his old team.

Carroll to stay on the bench

Ogbonna's height will also be needed to deal with Lukaku with Reid in for Tomkins. I would also like to see Tomkins moving to RB to replace Jenkinson as he did well there previously.

Valencia to start, Carroll and or Jelavic last 20-30.

This is why we need to spend big say £20m on a proven youngish top quality quick and strong goal scorer in the summer.

When Sakho is out we have no one with his all round attributes. This is the one thing this team as many other teams are missing most a prolific striker.

Valencia this weekend, you'd have to be blind to see that we don't look as good without someone pacey and full of running up front willing to put in a shift.

Jelavic for me, something to prove... We tried Carroll and it messed up our system and didn't work, bring Carroll on if we need a goal or for the last 30mins

They could play with no defenders and cope with Carroll if he plays like he did last Saturday.

Stones marking Carroll ? Yeah righteo. There's only one winner there in airial duals. Sackho's work rate will be missed no doubt. But i cant see them dealing with Carroll easily. Jagielka out too. Our only worry is keeping Lukaku quiet.

Is it me or do we tend to suffer with more injuries than most other teams.

Teams like Leicester, Soutjhampton etc seem to goo week to week playing the same players and do well.

Why doesn't Vardy get injured for instance, or Lukaku at Everton.

Must be my paranoia

Would like to see Sakho and Valencia start against Everton. We have not seen that for a while now.

As the Chelsea game, start with Sakho and bring AC on as required.

Its a moot question and involves tactical awareness and a measure of the opposition
